Monaco United have taken another decisive step in what is shaping up to be a standout season, securing their place in the Marenco Cup final with a commanding 4–0 win over AS Cannes away from home on Sunday, April 26.

Facing higher-division opposition, the side coached by Marco Simone delivered a composed and clinical performance, underlining their growing reputation as one of the most formidable teams in District 06 football.

Despite several absences in the squad, Monaco United controlled proceedings from the outset, dominating possession and creating numerous chances. However, a resilient Cannes defence and an inspired goalkeeper kept the score level at halftime, frustrating the visitors after a one-sided opening period.

The breakthrough came shortly after the restart, when captain Rachel Robert finished off a well-worked team move to open the scoring. That goal shifted the momentum entirely, with Monaco United finding both rhythm and efficiency in the final third.

Sarah Magnier then took centre stage, netting twice to extend the lead, before Robert added her second of the match to complete a convincing four-goal victory.

The result confirms Monaco United’s place in the Marenco Cup final, where they will face Villeneuve-Loubet, as the club continues to chase a third piece of silverware this season following their district title and qualification for the Mediterranean Cup final.

That upcoming Mediterranean Cup clash, set for May 16 in Cagnes-sur-Mer, will see Monaco United take on Olympique de Marseille Reserves in what promises to be a significant test. The Principality side has already made history in the competition, becoming the first district-level team to reach the final after eliminating opponents from higher divisions.

Attention will also turn to the promotion playoffs later in May, with two-legged ties offering the chance to step up to regional level and further cement the club’s rapid rise.

With multiple finals on the horizon and promotion within reach, Monaco United are entering a decisive phase of the season—one that could turn an already impressive campaign into a truly historic one.
