NEWS.MC, also known as Monaco Daily News, is an English-language news website covering the Principality of Monaco. It is published by NEWS SARL (North East West South SARL), a Monaco-registered publishing company, 17 Boulevard Princesse Charlotte, 98000 Monaco (RCI 20S08518). Our owner and publisher is Klaus Lovgreen. NEWS.MC has been publishing since 2020. This page explains how we work.

Who we are

Our original reporting is produced by a small Monaco-based team. Our main writers are Jack Brodie and Ross Povey, together with Donna-Marie Povey, who work as editors. We also publish the daily newsletter “Good Morning Monaco”, sent Monday to Saturday to about 3,500 subscribers, with a Sunday reminder for our TV news show, and the weekly “Monaco Weekly News TV Show”, produced in collaboration with Monaco Info.

Original reporting and aggregated headlines

Articles carrying a NEWS.MC byline are written and edited by our team. Separately, our Real-Time News feed links to stories by other publishers, so readers know about Monaco news we have not covered ourselves. These headlines may be translated into English, and they are clearly external links that open the original publisher’s site. We are not responsible for the content of external stories, and publishers may ask for their feed to be added or removed.

Sources and verification

We aim to report accurately and fairly. We rely on named sources, official documents, public authorities and our own reporting wherever possible. We check key facts before publishing, attribute information to its source, and make clear when something is unconfirmed. We use anonymous sources only when there is a good reason and the information has been checked.

Advertising, sponsorship and press releases

NEWS.MC is funded by advertising and sponsorship only. Advertisers and sponsors have no say over our editorial coverage. Sponsored and partner content – for example, posts by Monaco Legend Properties and Balkin Knight Frank – is clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial content. Press releases are published in our Press Releases section and are identified as such; they are not independent journalism.

Independence and conflicts of interest

Editorial decisions are made on news value alone. Team members must declare any personal, financial or commercial interest that could affect a story, and will not cover subjects where such a conflict cannot be managed. Where a relevant relationship exists, we disclose it to readers.

Use of AI tools

AI tools may assist with tasks such as translation or early drafting. A human editor reviews, edits and verifies all content before it is published under the NEWS.MC name and remains responsible for it.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we will correct it promptly. To request a correction, email hello@news.mc with the article link and details of the error. We aim to respond within two working days. Significant corrections are noted at the foot of the article, stating what was changed and when. Minor spelling or typographical fixes may be made without a note.

Privacy and right of reply

We respect privacy and only intrude where there is a clear public interest. People and organisations who are the subject of significant criticism will, where practical, be given the opportunity to respond before publication. Anyone who believes they have been treated unfairly may ask for a reply to be considered for publication.
