Founded by one of Lancia’s granddaughters, the initiative aims to look beyond the past and use the values associated with the celebrated Italian engineer and car manufacturer to inspire a new generation.
Lancia began his career as a racing driver before becoming an engineer and founding the company that carried his name. The association will emphasise qualities including observation, intuition, creativity and a willingness to take risks and pursue unconventional solutions.
Its ambitions also extend beyond the automotive world. The organisation intends to provide financial support for innovative environmental projects, with particular emphasis on protecting the oceans, whilst continuing to encourage interest in mechanical innovation.
The inauguration brought together enthusiasts and owners of historic Lancia cars, with several important models displayed outside the Automobile Club. Among them was the pioneering Lancia Lambda, introduced in 1922, providing a fitting link between Vincenzo Lancia’s engineering achievements and an initiative intended to carry his innovative spirit into the future.
