Two representatives of Monaco’s International Police Association (IPA) section are taking part in the organisation’s 69th World Congress in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where police personnel from across the world are meeting to exchange experiences and discuss the association’s future.
Pierre Angibaud, president of the Monaco section, and Julien Alonso, its deputy treasurer, are representing the Principality at the gathering, which runs until October 25.
The congress brings together national delegations to share perspectives on their professional experiences and explore ways to strengthen cooperation between police communities internationally. Alongside discussions about the organisation’s future direction, the event provides an opportunity for participants to establish contacts with colleagues working in different countries and policing environments.

For the Monaco delegation, attendance provides a chance to contribute to these exchanges while maintaining the Principality’s involvement in an organisation built around international friendship and solidarity. The gathering also reflects the IPA’s broader ambition to encourage mutual understanding among police personnel beyond national borders.
Founded in 1950, the International Police Association is an independent organisation whose membership spans police services worldwide. Its guiding motto, “Servo per Amikeco”, translates as “Service Through Friendship” and encapsulates its emphasis on personal connections, mutual respect and cooperation between members.
The congress in Colombo continues this tradition, bringing together representatives from numerous national sections to share experiences and strengthen the relationships that underpin the association’s international community.
