Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène inaugurated the newly renovated maternity block at the Princess Grace Hospital Centre (CHPG) on Thursday morning, marking a significant step forward in Monaco’s healthcare infrastructure…

Following the unveiling of a commemorative plaque in the obstetrics emergency room, the Princely Couple toured the upgraded facilities alongside Minister of State Christophe Mirmand, CHPG Director Benoîte Rousseau de Sevelinges, and Professor Bruno Carbonne, Head of the Maternity Department. The visit included the new double parental room, birthing suite, hydrotherapy room, obstetric emergency unit and redesigned operating spaces.

The comprehensive renovation delivers modern, functional and reassuring environments tailored to the needs of expectant mothers and their families. The aim is to enhance both comfort and medical care, while supporting a more personalised and family-oriented experience throughout the childbirth journey.

This inauguration comes just days after the opening of the Parents-Child Unit, completing the development of CHPG’s new Mother-Child Centre. The facility offers a fully integrated care pathway, combining innovation with a strong focus on patient wellbeing.

The project reflects Monaco’s continued investment in healthcare excellence and the importance placed on family support, values long championed by the Princely Couple.
