In response to an orange weather alert issued by Météo France for Tuesday, October 8, the Prince’s government has announced that schools and nurseries in Monaco will remain open. However, students who are absent will not face penalties.
The decision, made on Monday evening, advises parents and residents commuting from outside Monaco to follow the travel guidelines set by the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture, which has ordered the closure of schools in the surrounding region due to heavy rain and flood warnings.
The government emphasised that the priority is public safety, urging people not to take unnecessary risks. The Alpes-Maritimes prefecture announced earlier that all schools in the department would be closed on Tuesday, due to severe weather conditions.
