Youssouf Fofana has officially departed AS Monaco for AC Milan, marking a significant step in his career. The 25-year-old French midfielder, who has been a standout in Ligue 1 since joining Monaco in 2020, signed a four-year contract with the Italian giants, keeping him at the club until 2028.

Fofana, known for his technical and physical prowess, quickly established himself as a key player at Monaco, forming a formidable partnership with Aurélien Tchouaméni before becoming the leader of Monaco’s midfield. Last season, he was instrumental in Monaco’s second-place finish in Ligue 1, contributing four goals and four assists in 36 appearances.

AC Milan secured Fofana for a reported 25 million euros, beating out interest from Premier League clubs. He will wear the number 29 jersey for the Rossoneri and is expected to be a central figure in Paulo Fonseca’s squad. Fofana’s move follows an impressive international career with 21 caps and three goals for France.
