The Baltic Sea, known for its unpredictable conditions, recently hosted the European Coastal Rowing Championships in Gdansk, Poland. The event featured two disciplines; enduro; a long distance race, and the beach rowing sprint, an Olympic discipline set to debut at the Los Angeles Games.
The Société Nautique de Monaco celebrated a double victory, securing two silver medals. In the enduro category, the team of Paul Mosser, Guillaume Blanc, Benjamin Louis, and Ludovic Dubuis, helmed by Thomas Aubel, finished second in the six kilometre race, trailing Germany and surpassing Spain. This accomplishment earned the society the title of vice-champions of European clubs in the quadruple category.
In the beach sprint, Hugo Tarsitano-Renzetti, competing solo for the French team, also won a silver medal. He narrowly missed the gold, finishing just behind an Italian rower. The team now looks forward to the world championships in Genoa this September.
