Formula E and the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile revealed the next generation race car in Monaco on Thursday, April 25, ahead of the Monaco Formula E-Prix on Saturday, April 27.

The new all-electric GEN3 Evo, capable of reaching 60mph from standstill in 1.82 seconds, was unveiled at HSH Prince Albert II’s Private Car Collection. Leveraging a roster of innovative technical upgrades, the GEN3 Evo will debut in Season 11 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

The remarkable 0-60mph time is 30% faster than a current F1 car, and 36% faster than the GEN3 car that will take to the Principality’s circuit on Saturday. Capable of accelerating nearly a full second faster than its predecessor, the Evo boasts a meaner bodykit, is now all-wheel drive and all of those wheels are clad in grippier, more recycled all-weather Hankook iON tyres.

“The FIA and Formula E have been working hard on the development process of this new GEN3 Evo race car, which represents another significant leap forward in electric racing technology,” said FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

Free Practice 1 will commence on Saturday from 07:25, with Free Practice 2 from 09:05. Qualifying follows at 10:40, the E-Prix itself then starts at 15:00 and goes on until 16:00, before a podium ceremony until 17:00. However, the circuit will close from 05:00 until 19:30.
