Almost eight months after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee, Monaco striker Breel Embolo could make a return to the AS Monaco substitute bench when the Monegasque’s take on Metz away on Saturday, March 30.
Monaco head coach Adi Hütter suggested that Embolo may resume regular football as soon as this Saturday at a press conference on Thursday, March 28. However, the Austrian tactician remains cautious, saying “For me, he is not ready to play… He has been training normally for 10 days. It takes time after an injury like this. But he might be on the bench.”
Hütter will be without Guillermo Maripan and Mohamed Camara for varying periods of time, but as a result of injury, while Denis Zakaria must miss out on Metz, having picked up a red card in the previous 2-2 draw against FC Lorient before the international break.
