The Mairie is about to increase its security, inside and out, with the installation of CCTV cameras. Previously, the Town Hall was not viewed as a strategically important building, but this appears to have changed.

The upgrade in security is happening in the aftermath of the arrest of Georges Marsan just before Christmas, and the subsequent charging of the long-serving Mayor with the traffic of influence.

Employees of the Town Hall have been assured that the new security system will not be used to check on their comings and goings.

There has been no indication of the number of cameras being installed nor their location.
