Awa Ly – Thursday Live Session

As a child, Awa used to sing by instinct, from a natural order, and never thought of turning it into a career. The idea occurred later, although the young lady seemed destined to become a brilliant producer. We can’t cheat destiny: the same way Awa had left France in a heartbeat, to settle in Rome, she will not hesitate to dive, head first, along an artistic path. Acting from time to time, she decides to dedicate herself solely to music and records a first EP titled Awa Ly in 2014. Her blending of folk, jazz and world music seduces, as well in France as in Italy, and the live shows keep on going.

Jazz, soul, rhythm and blues, funk and afrobeat, Awa Ly, a magician’s voice! Free entrance, booking recommended at +377 9999 3000. On Thursday, April 20, from 18:30 aperomix – 20:30 live concert at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco.

Celebrate St. George’s Day in Monaco

With the lead-up to the Coronation the British Association of Monaco (BAM) would like to get members into the patriotic mood and celebrate their Patron Saint on April 24 at 19:30.  A dinner at the Caffè Milano of Port Hercule enjoying a view of the boats across the quay.

As the day before is also Shakespeare’s birth and death date, the plan is to incorporate a mini table quiz on the two themes, so read up on your saints and your plays.  Of course, there will be prizes for the winners.

Massimo Listri – Photographs – Exhibition

Until April 28, Moretti Fine Art is pleased to welcome you at the Monaco exhibition Massimo Listri – Photographs, a retrospective dedicated to Massimo Listri, a world-renowned artist of architectural photography.

The exhibition brings together a selection of 15 photographs that trace the artist’s long career, offering a complete panorama of his production, with large-scale works of considerable visual impact.

The images proposed are transcendental: his photos transmit an almost deafening silence, as if time had stopped, empty interiors illuminated by a perfect light that creates a surreal atmosphere and idealises their beauty. The same beauty that we find in Arno Brecker’s sculptures immortalised in these close-up portraits.

Massimo Listri’s photographic creations in homage to the most beautiful palaces, interiors, villas and extraordinary architectural works of all time. In 35 years and in collaboration with the most prestigious publishers in Europe and the United States, he has published over 80 books. Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 18:00, special opening on Saturday, April 15 and Sunday 16 at Moretti Fine Art. Discover more here.

George Condo – Humanoids – Exhibition

For George Condo, “the Humanoid is not a science fiction monster, but a depiction that uses traditional methods to bring a person’s inner emotions to the surface”. Over the course of eight sections, the exhibition traces the continuity of a profuse body of work that ranges from “space beings” to Who’s Who, from Guido Reni to Bugs Bunny. Featuring specially produced paintings, the exhibition offers a glimpse of the artist’s process of invention – as crazy as it is erudite – of humanoids. From Friday, March 31 to Sunday October 1, 2023 at the Nouveau Musée National de Monaco – Villa Paloma. Discover more about the exhibition here. Read more about George Condo in our article here.
