A well-known Monaco Resident, Peter Johnson, who is 83 years of age, was awarded an Honorary degree by Liverpool University on Sunday, April 16, by a special delegation from the University at his house in Mougins.
Peter was the Founder and Chairman of Park Group Plc which was based on the Wirral where Peter was also the owner and Chairman of Everton Football Club, which he owned outright after his similar ownership and Chairmanship of Tranmere Rovers. Peter was at the helm in 1995 when Everton beat Manchester United in the FA Cup.
Peter is very well known on the Wirral as both a successful businessman and through his Charitable Trust, the Johnson Foundation, which has been a major benefactor to the region following its setting-up in 1987.
The Foundation has raised over £10 million for charitable causes, particularly in education, health and the relief of poverty.
