Monaco qualified on Easter Monday for the final of the Gambardella Cup, which is seen as the most important trophy in youth football in France.
The youngsters of Monaco won at Pau 2-0, with goals from teenagers Dendani and Tincres.
The final will be played in the Stade de France, just before the final of the Coupe de France (Toulouse-Nantes).
Clermont will be the opponent of Monaco after beating Rennes on a penalty shoot-out.
For the management of Monaco this result is welcomed as reward for management’s policy under Paul Mitchell of giving attention to the youth teams again.
Monaco won this trophy in 2016 with Kylian Mbappé as the rising star, just one year before winning the French championship with the senior team.
