AS Monaco have announced the extension of Caio Henrique’s contract for another season, tying the left back to the Principality side until June, 2027.
Now in his third season with Monaco, Henrique has firmly established himself as a starting player within the club since signing in 2020, through consistently strong performances and a fair few assists.
A Brazilian international, Henrique was born in Santos, where he completed his training with Santos FC. A club famed for producing Neymar Jr and Pelé, two of the sport’s most iconic players. After honing his skills with the Brazilian outfit, Henrique moved on to the Spanish La Liga, where he joined Atletico Madrid.
After a few loan spells back in Brazil, Henrique found his new home in the Principality, and seems to have settled in comfortably.
“Prolonging at AS Monaco and continuing my career with the Club is a great joy for me. Since my arrival, I have had the opportunity to express myself and develop my qualities,” said Henrique, before adding: “I am happy to be able to continue to do so and to be part of the long term with AS Monaco, within this magnificent group, and in a club full of ambitions.”
Meanwhile, Monaco Sporting Director Paul Mitchell commented “Since joining the Club, Caio has displayed an exemplary state of mind. His mentality and his qualities as a player have made him an important player in our squad. His work has allowed him to progress on a daily basis and develop his profile. We are delighted that it is long term with AS Monaco!”
