After a winning home performance against Montpellier last weekend (2-0), the Monaco team put on a poor show against Brest on the last day of October.

Rubbing home the significance of Monaco’s loss was the fact that this was the Breton side’s first win of the season. Ben Yedder struggled to do anything useful and Volland seemed to always have two Brest players on his case.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a fine shot from Steve Mounie, and it wasn’t until the 79th that Franck Honorat nailed the second goal.

Brest now stand at 18th in Ligue 1 and Monaco at 10th.
