A resident aged 87 has died of coronavirus, the Monaco Government said on Tuesday evening, taking the total since the start of the pandemic to nine, according to Government calculations. The Government expressed its sincere condolences.
Twenty-eight new cases of coronavirus were reported among Monaco residents on Tuesday, January 19.
The new figure follows two days when the 24-hour figure fell, to 11 on Sunday and seven on Monday.
Twenty residents are being treated at Princess Grace Hospital, four in intensive care.
Twenty-three residents were reported to have fully recovered, while 114 residents with mild symptoms are recovering at home under the supervision of the Home Monitoring Centre.
Meanwhile, the UK recorded its highest daily total of coronavirus deaths, at 1,610 on Tuesday. A total of 33,355 new cases were reported. In France on Monday, January 18, 3,736 new cases and 403 new deaths were reported.
