Laughter is the theme of the March 10 TEDxMonteCarloSalon where participants will explore why and how humans laugh and its impact on health, work and even politics. Special guest experts for the event include a stand up comic, psychologist, laughter researcher and wellness expert.

According to Annette Anderson, TEDxMonteCarlo board member and the Salon emcee, “The actual title of our event is ‘Laughter is No Joking Matter’. It’s such an important part of our lives but we really know so little about it. Can laughter cure disease? Can animals laugh? Why is some laughter considered ‘politically incorrect’? What makes a joke funny to one person but not another? Our Salon will be looking at these and other questions.”

A TEDx Salon features videos of highly curated TED TALKS about ideas worth sharing, enhanced by thought provoking discussions from our audience and guest experts who interact and share their opinions. A Salon is a condensed but intimate version of the TEDxMonteCarlo flagship event; it is theme specific and has no live speakers.

Anderson said “This event will surely make you laugh, possibly make you cry but unquestionably make you think! Plus several lucky guests will test their sense of humor in order to win prizes from our event partners – including free tickets to Monaco’s international comedy festival, the Sérénissimes de L’Humour taking place on March 18-21.”

The Salon will be held in the Stardeck at Stars’n’Bars. Doors open at 18:00 and the event begins at 18:30 sharp. Tickets can be purchased at.  https://tedxmontecarlo.com/tickets-salon-laughter
