Barclays Bank in Switzerland has launched an Israel Desk in its Zurich office and appointed six new employees.
The bank said the move is in line with its strategy of strengthening the wealth management business and expanding the private banking business in Switzerland by more than 10 percent this year.
Gérald Mathieu, CEO of Barclays Bank (Suisse) SA, said: “In view of our growth ambitions, we have been looking for the best talents so that we can seize the opportunities offered by a financial centre such as Zurich.”
Jean-Christophe Gerard, CEO of Barclays Monaco and head of Private Bank Switzerland and Monaco, said: “Thanks to the ever-closer integration of local and global expertise in our international private banking locations and the great synergies between our Private Banking and Barclays Investment Banking and Corporate Banking , we can offer our clients tailor-made strategies and suitable solutions.”
