Charles Leclerc is the Monte Carlo-born Formula 1 driver who races for Scuderia Ferrari in the number 16 car. A former GP3 and Formula 2 champion, he made his F1 debut with Sauber in 2018, joined Ferrari in 2019 and won the Belgian and Italian Grands Prix that year. In May 2024 he became the first Monegasque driver to win the Monaco Grand Prix in the world championship era, the first home winner since Louis Chiron in 1931. He was runner-up in the 2022 world championship and has taken nine Grand Prix wins.
