The Orthodox parish of Saint Empress Elena of Monaco marked the ninth anniversary of its founding with a day of worship and community celebrations bringing together clergy and parishioners from across the region.
The anniversary was commemorated on Saturday, June 20 with a festive Divine Liturgy led by the parish’s head priest, Father Evgeniy, joined by Father Igor from the Serbian Orthodox Church in Nice, Father Mark from the Orthodox parish in Cannes and visiting priest Father Viktor from the Orthodox Cathedral in Munich.
Following the service, members of the congregation gathered for a summer family lunch, providing an opportunity for parishioners and guests to celebrate the milestone together. The event also served as a fundraiser for the parish, generating €4,000 in support of its activities and future projects.
The celebrations attracted a strong turnout from the local Orthodox community, while eight singers from Saint Elena’s choir contributed to the occasion with a series of liturgical performances throughout the day.
The anniversary highlighted the continued growth of the parish since its establishment nine years ago and underscored its role as a spiritual and cultural gathering point for Orthodox Christians in Monaco and the surrounding region.
