As part of Monaco Art Week, architect and designer David Bitton has taken over the Aston Martin showroom, transforming it into a space where art and design intersect…

At the centre of the installation is a striking “floating” sofa, created in collaboration with artist Astro, presented both as a sculptural object and a functional piece of furniture.

Displayed prominently in the showroom and window, the sofa is designed to be viewed from multiple perspectives, blurring the line between art and interior design. Inside, it is staged within a living space setting, while outside it appears almost like a standalone sculpture, reinforcing its dual identity.

Bitton’s work reflects a broader shift in how design is perceived, with collectible pieces increasingly valued alongside fine art. Produced in a limited edition of just 25 signed and numbered examples, the sofa embodies both exclusivity and craftsmanship.

By integrating this installation into a luxury automotive environment, Monaco Art Week once again demonstrates its ability to extend beyond traditional gallery spaces. The collaboration highlights how contemporary design can engage new audiences, offering a fresh perspective on creativity within the Principality’s evolving cultural landscape.
