The Prince’s Palace has unveiled the official programme for the apostolic visit of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV to Monaco on Saturday, March 28, offering the first detailed look at what promises to be a historic day for the Principality…
As previously reported, the visit marks a rare and highly symbolic moment in Monaco’s modern history.
The day will begin at 9:00 a.m., when the Pope arrives at the Monaco Heliport, where he will be welcomed by His Serene Highness Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene. Shortly afterwards, a formal welcome ceremony will take place at the Prince’s Palace, followed by a private audience between the Sovereign Prince and the Pontiff.
At 10:10 a.m., both leaders will appear on the balcony of the Prince’s Palace to address the public gathered in Palace Square.
The Pope will then travel to Monaco Cathedral, where he will meet members of the Catholic community alongside the Princely Couple and Archbishop Dominique-Marie David. The programme continues with a visit to Sainte-Dévote Church, where Pope Leo XIV will meet catechumens and young people.
The highlight of the day will take place at 3:30 p.m. with a pontifical mass at Stade Louis II. The service will be open to the public and attended by the Princely Family, civil and religious authorities, and many faithful expected to travel to Monaco for the occasion.
The visit will conclude with the Pope’s departure from the Monaco Heliport at 5:35 p.m.
