Monaco set sail for Greece this Thursday, September 25 as His Serene Highness Prince Albert II officially launched the “Mission Greece” from Port de Fontvieille, marking the opening chapter of the wider “Mediterranean Missions” initiative.

The programme, led by Les Explorations de Monaco, will blend scientific research, diplomacy, and public outreach to strengthen the development of Marine Protected Areas across the Mediterranean. Prince Albert II emphasised that the mission reflects Monaco’s long-standing commitment to ocean conservation and regional cooperation.

The next stop will be Athens, where the exhibition “Time for Action: The Marine Protected Areas of the Mediterranean” will open at the Eugenides Foundation, spotlighting the urgent need to protect fragile marine ecosystems.

This Mediterranean journey seeks not only to advance conservation science but also to unite governments, researchers, and local communities around a shared goal: safeguarding the sea for generations to come.
