The Principality’s Directorate of Cultural Affairs has unveiled an exciting lineup for the 2024 season of ‘Théâtre du Fort Antoine’. The announcement, made in the presence of Florence Ferrari, Secretary General of the Department of the Interior, and Françoise Gamerdinger, Director of Cultural Affairs, promises a vibrant mix of theatre and music throughout July.
Kicking off the season is a Corsican-themed evening on Tuesday, July 2, featuring the talented duo of Fred and Nico Dumani. Known for their soulful vocals and guitar skills, these artists from Porto-Vecchio will set the stage for a month of musical diversity.
Ana Carla Maza, a distinguished cellist and singer, will enchant the audience with her latest album, offering a fusion of classical, jazz, and Latin American rhythms, on Friday, July 12, before Clara Ysé, an artist known for her unique vocal style and emotive performances, will present her latest work on Tuesday, July 23. Renowned jazz pianist Baptiste Trottignon, along with his trio, will deliver an innovative concert featuring rock classics reimagined with a jazz twist on Thursday, July 25.
Theatrical performances will punctuate the month, taking place in the fort in between the concerts. Jérôme Rouger’s ‘In Case of Imminent Peril’ will explore the role of the artist in society on Friday, July 5, while Marine Colard’s ‘Le Tir Sacré’ combines theatre and dance to offer a dynamic performance inspired by the world of sports on Tuesday, July 16.
This year’s season concludes on Tuesday, July 30 with Benjamin Tholosan’s ‘Parler Pointu,’ a solo performance that delves into the nuances of regional accents, celebrating linguistic diversity.
For the second year in a row, Fort Antoine will host an open stage on Friday, July 19, providing a platform for young artists from Monaco to showcase their talents, reinforcing the community’s commitment to nurturing local creativity.
