Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene were recognised during the closing gala of the 81st General Assembly of the International Military Sports Council on Thursday, May 7, bringing an end to a week of international meetings and sporting diplomacy in the Principality.

The gala evening, held at the Fairmont Monte Carlo, gathered delegates from dozens of countries alongside senior military representatives and officials who had travelled to Monaco for the annual assembly.

During the ceremony, the Princely couple received several honours in recognition of their support for the values promoted by the organisation, which uses sport as a tool to encourage dialogue, co-operation and peace between nations.

The week-long gathering brought together delegations from 79 countries for discussions focused on international co-operation through military sport, as well as preparations for future competitions including the 2027 World Military Games.

The closing gala marked the final event of the assembly, ending several days of conferences, institutional exchanges and symbolic events held across Monaco under the High Patronage of the Sovereign Prince.
