To mark May 8, International Red Cross Day, the Monaco Red Cross opened its doors to the public for a hands-on awareness day focused on solidarity, prevention and community support.

Visitors of all ages were invited to take part in introductory first aid workshops, learn basic rescue techniques and test their knowledge through interactive quizzes and educational activities centred on emergency response and mutual aid. The aim was simple: make life-saving skills less abstract and more instinctive.

The event also highlighted the everyday work of volunteers who support the organisation’s humanitarian missions in Monaco and abroad, underlining the broader values of the international Red Cross movement.

By the end of the day, organisers said the goal had been to reinforce public awareness of simple but crucial actions that can make a difference in emergencies, while celebrating the spirit of civic responsibility that sits at the heart of the Red Cross tradition.
