As part of its European tour, a delegation from the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region visited Monaco on March 8 and 9, 2025, marking a step forward in strengthening economic and strategic ties between the two regions…
Led by Tai Kin Ip, Secretary for Economy and Finance, the delegation included key figures such as the Directors of the Economic and Technological Development Bureau, the Tourism Office, and the Centre for Studies at the University of Macao. The visit also featured several business leaders from Macao specializing in high technology, artificial intelligence, and telecommunications, highlighting the region’s growing influence in these cutting-edge sectors.
A key strategic partner in Asia-Pacific since 2017, Macao’s Galaxy Entertainment Group was also represented, with its Director of General Affairs, Buddy Lam, participating in discussions. The delegation engaged in productive exchanges with representatives from Monaco’s Finance and Economy Department, External Relations and Cooperation Department, the Tourism and Convention Authority, and the Monaco Economic Board.
The highlight of the visit was a formal dinner hosted by Monaco’s Ambassador to China, Marie-Pascale Boisson, which provided an opportunity for networking between Macanese officials and Monegasque entrepreneurs operating in innovation and technology. These discussions aimed to explore new areas of cooperation and strengthen existing business links between Monaco and Macao.
