The Roca Team delivered a statement win in the EuroLeague on the evening of Wednesday, March 5, defeating Paris Basketball 79-91 in their first of two back-to-back clashes. A dominant second half in the French capital secured the victory, reinforcing Monaco’s place in the top four of the regular season while pushing Paris out of the top six.
Paris had beaten Monaco twice earlier in the season, but this time, the Roca Team took control. After a tight first half, Monaco exploded in the third quarter with a 12-0 run, led by Daniel Theis, who finished with 21 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Loyd added 21 points of his own, shooting an impressive 8/9 from the field.
Paris struggled from beyond the arc, making just five of 28 three-point attempts. While they stayed competitive with strong offensive rebounding in the first half, they couldn’t recover once Monaco pulled away in the third quarter.
With their 17th EuroLeague win of the season, Monaco now sits in fourth place as the regular season nears its conclusion. Paris, meanwhile, slips out of the top six and faces pressure from teams like Partizan Belgrade, Olimpia Milan, and Real Madrid.
The two sides will meet again on Sunday, March 9, at Gaston-Médecin in Betclic ELITE, where Paris will look to bounce back and settle the score.
