Monaco’s public transport network is set to become even more efficient and accessible with the introduction of a new stop on the experimental Express X3 bus line. Starting February 24, 2025, passengers traveling from Larvotto to Fontvieille will have the convenience of a new stop at “Place Sainte-Dévote (Gare),” strategically positioned near the train station.

The decision comes after a thorough evaluation of passenger movement patterns and direct feedback from commuters. Since their launch in April 2024, the Express X3 and X4 lines have aimed to provide a faster, more direct link between the eastern and western districts of Monaco, significantly reducing travel time. These routes, operating Monday through Friday from 07:00 to 19:00, have quickly become essential for daily commuters, averaging 13,400 monthly passengers on the X3 and 5,300 on the X4 in the latter half of 2024.

Recognising the evolving needs of residents and workers, Monaco’s government has remained committed to adapting and refining these services. Until now, the X3 route included a stop at “Princesse Antoinette” only in the Fontvieille-to-Larvotto direction. With the addition of the Sainte-Dévote stop, passengers traveling in the opposite direction will now have easier access to the train station, responding to a strong demand from users.

This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Monegasque government, in collaboration with the Compagnie Monégasque des Autobus, to continuously assess and optimise the public transport system. By refining routes and improving accessibility, Monaco aims to encourage a shift away from private car use and promote sustainable urban mobility.
