The consultation gathered insights from 2,768 Monegasques, a record participation rate of 38%. Conducted with the help of BVA Xsight, the survey shed light on the key concerns, aspirations, and satisfaction levels among Monaco’s citizens.

Here are the key findings from the feedback session.

Happiness and Quality of Life

An overwhelming 89% of respondents reported feeling happy, surpassing the levels in France (71%) and Italy (58%). However, quality of life emerged as a significant concern, with 63% naming it as their top priority. Issues like mobility, traffic congestion, and green spaces dominated the discussion.

Specific recommendations included:

  • Improving TER train services (80%).
  • Limiting traffic (71%).
  • Redesigning green spaces and pedestrian areas (70%).
  • Introducing free buses (63%).

Healthcare and Housing

While 77% expressed satisfaction with Monaco’s healthcare system, concerns about accessibility persisted, with calls for shorter wait times and streamlined processes. A proposed health center, supported by 78% of respondents, could address these challenges.

On housing, 79% found their current accommodations adequate, with priorities focused on:

  • Rent and utility costs (63%).
  • Parking availability (39%).
  • Neighborhood satisfaction (36%).
  • Improved soundproofing (30%).

Economic and Social Concerns

Employment satisfaction stood at 74%, but only 59% felt adequately compensated for their efforts. On commerce, while 70% were satisfied with the welcome in shops, fewer were content with the variety of brands (43%) and product options (51%). A significant 66% criticized the quality-price ratio in Monaco.

Confidence in the National Council

The consultation revealed a 70% approval rate for the National Council, with 68% expressing trust in its elected officials. President Thomas Brezzo pledged to enhance communication and address the concerns of the 30% who remain dissatisfied.

Looking Ahead

The National Council plans to use the consultation results to refine policies on mobility, housing, healthcare, and commerce, ensuring Monaco remains a desirable place to live and work. The consultation highlights the commitment of the Principality to listening to its citizens and addressing their evolving needs.
