Monaco’s prestigious Salle des Étoiles will once again shine a spotlight on international rugby as it hosts the 2024 World Rugby Awards on November 24, under the High Patronage of Princess Charlene…
This marks the fourth time the Principality has welcomed the event, which celebrates the best in global rugby, including rugby union and rugby 7s, and serves as the official end to the international rugby season.
With a total of 14 awards on offer, the event will honour the best male and female players of the year, top coaches, standout revelations, and members of the season’s ‘Dream Team.’ “We are delighted to return to Monaco, an iconic venue with links to some of the world’s most prestigious sporting events,” said World Rugby Chief Executive Alan Gilpin, adding that this year’s awards cap off an exceptional season of international rugby.
The nominees for these esteemed accolades will be announced six days prior to the ceremony, on November 18, and are chosen by a jury of rugby legends, Hall of Fame members, and past award winners, including notable names like Thierry Dusautoir, Kieran Read, and Rachael Burford. Among the anticipated highlights, Antoine Dupont, 2021’s Best Player award winner, stands as a favourite to succeed current titleholder Ardie Savea.
Additionally, from November 18 to 20, fans can join the celebration by voting online for the International Rugby Players Try of the Year, honouring exceptional moments in both men’s and women’s rugby.
