Initially scheduled to take place in Beijing, China, on August 8, the Champions Trophy match between AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain has been rescheduled to Wednesday, August 28 and will now be held at the Stade Louis-II in Monaco.
The change spares both teams a lengthy pre-season trip to China. The match, originally set for early August, was postponed without a confirmed date or location until now. The new date, however, comes amid a busy schedule, with Monaco playing Lyon on Saturday, August 24 and hosting RC Lens the following weekend.
Given both clubs’ participation in European competitions this season, it was likely deemed best to hold the match early before the calendar becomes even more congested. The Professional Football League has not yet officially confirmed the details, and Monaco has neither confirmed nor denied the information.
