AS Monaco is poised to bolster its squad with another promising young talent this summer. Following the acquisition of 17-year-old George Ilenikhena, who has already impressed with two goals in pre-season, the club is now in advanced negotiations to sign 19-year-old striker Paris Brunner from Borussia Dortmund.
According to reports from Bild Sport, Monaco is negotiating with Brunner, whose contract with Dortmund expires in a year. If the deal goes through, Brunner may be loaned to Cercle Bruges to gain more playing experience.
Brunner is reportedly eager to leave Dortmund, as he is not in the plans of the club’s new coach, Nuri Sahin. Although he has been training with the first team, Dortmund’s management has indicated that he will likely play with the U23s or U19s, a prospect that does not appeal to the young striker. Last season, Brunner participated in five Youth League matches.
A German international at the youth level, Brunner has an impressive track record, having won both the U17 World Cup and the Euro in 2023, defeating France in both finals with teammates Saïmon Bouabré and Joan Tincres.
