The Roca Team had been sure of participation in the play-offs of the EuroLeague for a week, but it now also knows which team will be the opponent in the quarterfinals. The basketball team from Monaco will compete with Fenerbahçe from Istanbul for a spot in the Final Four, in a best of five game, with Roca Team having the advantage of playing the fifth meeting in front of a home crowd at the Salle Gaston Médécin.
Roca Team finished the regular season in third place, beating Bayern Munich (89-85) on the last matchday. Last season, coach Sasa Obradovic’s team finished fourth after the regular season, but finished the season in third place of the Final Four. Of course, the Serbian coach hopes to surpass that performance in this edition.
It is not yet certain which eight teams have qualified for the quarterfinals, as Maccabi Tel Aviv, Baskonia Vitoria, Efes Istanbul and Virtus Bologna still have to decide in head-to-head matches who will go to the last eight and then play against Real Madrid or Panathinaikos. Another quarterfinal is known: Barcelona – Olympiakos. The Final Four will take place from Friday, May 24 until Sunday, May 26 in Berlin.
