The highly-anticipated and fully-booked Rose Ball returns this year in a glittery and glamorous disco theme, bringing the 80s back to the Principality’s Salle des Étoiles on the evening of Saturday, March 23.

The Rose Ball, or Bal de la Rose, was created by Princess Grace of Monaco in 1954 and is organised every year by Monte-Carlo SBM, while being presided over by HSH Prince Albert and HRH Princess Caroline of Hanover. For the third year in a row, designer Christian Louboutin has been invited to reimagine the high-profile event, at the request of Princess Caroline.

Therefore, last year’s successful Bollywood theme will be succeeded by that of disco, bringing with it drag queens, a great multitude of dancers and the disco queen herself, Gloria Gaynor.

After a 50 dancer-strong choreographed performance, Gaynor will belt out her hit album I will survive, before DJ Kiddy Smile’s set until midnight. Revellers rest assured, a huge disco ball will dominate the ceiling of the Salle des Étoiles, ensuring the glistening of the aforementioned glitter.

Not just a pretext to party, the Rose Ball is an internationally-recognised charity event, with all proceeds going to the Princess Grace Foundation.
