Jewellery House Fabergé has announced the addition of the Heritage Yellow Gold Diamond & Guilloché Enamel Bee Surprise Locket to its Heritage collection, in partnership with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, according to a report at professionaljeweller.com.

For every piece sold, the House will donate $1,350 (£1,117) to the foundation. These funds will finance the actions of the foundation’s Forests and Communities Initiative (FCI) which has been launched, alongside other partners, to support the conservation of forest ecosystems through the action of indigenous peoples and local communities and the development of a supportive network of actors providing a range of multidisciplinary expertise.

Celebrating Fabergé’s passion for surprise and showcasing complex traditional techniques, the Heritage collections features the delicate art of guilloché enamelling and hand-engraving.

The Heritage Yellow Gold Diamond & Guilloché Enamel Bee Surprise Locket is crafted in 18k yellow gold and hand-painted with a peach-coloured guilloché enamel.

The little bee itself is hand-painted in black and orange lacquer and sits upon a yellow agate stone platform, with subtle honeycomb engraving. The outer case of the egg locket features 15 round brilliant-cut white diamonds.

Available to view on the Fabergé website, the Heritage Yellow Gold Diamond & Guilloché Enamel Bee Surprise Locket retails at  $13,500/£10,800.
