Auguste Escoffier, his life in Monaco, and his Francophone culinary works – Lecture
The Monaco Section of the Union de la Presse Francophone and the Ordre National du Mérite Monaco are pleased to present a lecture by Michel Escoffier, great-grandson of Auguste Escoffier. Georges Auguste Escoffier was a French chef, restaurateur, and culinary writer who popularised and updated traditional French cooking methods. Also present will be Richard Duvauchelle, former General Manager of Le Martinez and Le Noga Hilton in Cannes, Curator of the Escoffier Museum, and The Disciples of Escoffier, whose efforts ensure that Auguste Escoffier’s legacy lives on around the world. After the lecture, there will be a question and answer session with the audience, led by journalist Philippe Tallois, himself an Escoffier disciple. Le Horla – Guy de Maupassant – Theatre
A man gradually becomes convinced that he is being followed by an invisible being that feeds on his life force as he sleeps, until he becomes obsessed. Is he hallucinating, going mad, or is he the first victim of a supernatural creature? Through his diary, we meet a seemingly sane man, discover the phenomena he experiences, and are kept in suspense about his fate, until all is finally revealed. Love Letter – The Art of the Cinema
The Audiovisual Institute of Monaco presents a 1953 film directed by Kinuyo Tanaka. Filmed in the Shibuya district of Tokyo, this superb melodrama in a neorealist style was the first movie to be directed by former actress Kinuyo Tanaka. On Tuesday, October 17 at 20:00 at the Théâtre des Variétés.

7th E-Rallye Monte-Carlo – Event
For the 7th edition of the zero-emissions version of the Monte-Carlo Rally, the Organising Committee at the Automobile Club de Monaco is focusing on innovation, true to the spirit of the event created in 1995. The eighth stage of the FIA eco Rally Cup, the 2023 Monte-Carlo E-Rally will be an intensely thrilling mix of modernity and prestige. The Monte-Carlo E-Rally will arrive in the Principality this autumn, returning to Monaco like its sister WRC race, and will finally see the competitors race along the iconic backroads of the Riviera. Over his 56-year reign, HSH Prince Rainier III profoundly shaped the Principality into the modern Monaco that we now know, rightly earning the nickname ‘the Builder Prince’.
