His Excellency Mr Gabriel Revel, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Monaco to the Council of Europe, has presented his credentials to the Secretary General, Ms Marija Pejcinovic Buric, at the headquarters of the Organisation in Strasbourg.
This ceremony was followed by a private audience during which the Ambassador spoke of the importance that the Principality attaches to this Organisation.
They spoke in particular about the 20th anniversary of membership which will be celebrated in 2024 as well as the next Presidency of the Committee of Ministers that Monaco will assume from May to November 2026.
The Secretary General took the opportunity of welcoming the commitment of the Principality of Monaco to supporting the activities of the Council of Europe, its support for the values of the Organisation demonstrated through its participation in the Summit of Heads of State and Government in Reykjavik last month and by its recent accession to the Partial Agreement establishing a register of damage caused by the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
