AS Monaco continue to enjoy their pre-season campaign having remained undefeated in yet another friendly match, this time against Serie A side Inter Milan on Saturday, July 16.
The Monegasques managed to score early on, as Wissam Ben Yedder lined up Aleksandr Golovin with a tidy assist to score at the seventh minute.
Ben Yedder then came back to double the lead with a clean chip past the goalkeeper and into the back of the net, bringing the scoreline to 0-2 at the 30th minute.
However, Milan midfielder Roberto Gagliardini managed to reduce the deficit with a goal following a corner just before the break at the 42nd minute.
Monaco head coach Philippe Clement made seven substitutions over half-time, bringing on Félix Lemarechal, Maghnes Akliouche, Gelson Martins, Soungoutou Magassa, Jean Lucas, Chrislain Matsima and Takumi Minamino. The Japanese international made his debut with the red and whites on this occasion.
At the 59th minute Simone Inzaghi’s men found the equaliser with a goal by Kristjan Asslani to make it 2-2. Monaco did not give up the fight yet, and the substitutes were successful in getting more shots off, but no one could find the back of the net before the final whistle was blown.
Monaco therefore continue in their undefeated streak this pre-season, and will be looking to continue it when they face off against FC Porto in Portugal on Saturday, July 23.
