A coin struck to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the marriage of HSH Prince Albert and HSH Princess Charlene almost sold out within a few hours..
The coin has a face value of two euros, but was offered for sale by the Monaco Stamps and Coins Museum at 120 euros, plus shipping.
Fifteen thousand pieces were produced by the Paris Mint, and according to local daily Monaco Matin 11,500 collectors had registered online to buy the coin by 13:45, with each buyer limited to one piece.
At 22:30 on Wednesday evening there was a queue to access the website www. mtm-monaco.mc, with a message saying 15,542 people were ahead in the line with a wait of about an hour.
