Prince Albert took the twins, Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, along with him on his weekend trip to Ireland.

One of the highlights of the visit was the marking of a one million euros gift from the Prince towards the costs of the restoration of the Old Library at Trinity College Dublin.

The Sovereign’s visit to Dublin was particularly poignant, as it marks 60 years since he visited the city with Prince Rainer, Princess Grace and older sister Princess Caroline. Ten years ago Prince Albert and Princess Charlene also made a state visit, marking 50 years since the tumultuous earlier trip when his mother and father were mobbed everywhere they went by adoring crowds of well-wishers.
