The French authorities have removed the 30km limit on Monaco residents to enable them to visit the Var department without the need for a negative PCR test. However, the time limit of 24 hours stays in place.

Monaco is reciprocating by extending the exemption from a PCR test, currently in place for French visitors, to include residents of the Var, the Government announced on Tuesday evening.

Commuting workers, schoolchildren and students, as well as residents of the Alpes-Maritimes and Var coming to the Principality for less than 24 hours are exempt from this provision.

The Government is continuing to press the French authorities in order to lift the 24-hour deadline which limits travel to the Var department and the Alpes-Maritimes.
