A working meeting between President Emmanuel Macron and HSH Prince Albert took place on Friday November 29, at the Elysée Palace, providing the opportunity to reaffirm the depth and close ties between the French Republic and the Principality, the Prince’s Palace said in a statement.
“‘Our community of destiny,’forged throughout our common history, is enriched by constant cooperation between the two states, the development of the Franco-Monaco employment pool and great shared ambitions. These include the protection of the environment, the fight against climate change, the defence of biodiversity and the preservation of the oceans,” the statement said.
In particular, the two leaders discussed three issues; the negotiation of an association agreement between Monaco and the European Union, taking into account the specificities of Monaco; the evolution of the situation of French citizens living in Monaco for several generations, the ‘children of the country’ who contribute to the history, society and economy of Monaco; and the daily life of French employees who participate directly in its economic dynamism, and in particular the question of their possible access to preferential housing in the neighbouring municipalities.”
Prince Albert Invited President Emmanuel Macron and his wife to visit the Principality soon for an official visit.
