Within 48 hours of Monaco’s disastrous opening match of the new season at Stade Louis II, which Monaco lost 0-3 against Lyon, the club announced that sports director Michael Emenalo will leave the club.

“By mutual agreement, AS Monaco and Michael Emenalo decide to put an end to their collaboration. Michael Emenalo arrived in Monaco in November 2017 and thanked AS Monaco for giving him the opportunity to discover the French championship and wishes the club and supporters a beautiful season 2019/2020.

“AS Monaco also thanks Michael Emenalo for his commitment and wishes him all the best for his future projects,” the official ASM website said.

The 54 year-old Nigerian had joined the club in the summer transfer window of 2018.
