Her Serene Highness Princess Charlène is the wife of HSH Prince Albert II, whom she married in July 2011. Born on 25 January 1978 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, she represented South Africa as a swimmer at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. In 2012 HSH Princess Charlène created the Princess Charlène of Monaco Foundation, which works to prevent drowning and to promote education through sport.
