Valentin Vacherot has added another major achievement to his remarkable rise on the ATP Tour, defeating Jiří Lehečka to win the Swiss Indoors Basel on Sunday, November 1.
The Monégasque fought back from a set down to claim a 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory in the final, securing his second career title and his first at ATP 500 level.
After struggling to contain the Czech eighth seed in the opening set, Vacherot found his rhythm and took control of the contest. He maintained his momentum in the deciding set, eventually converting his match point after a Lehečka backhand sailed beyond the baseline.

The victory makes Vacherot the first player from Monaco to win the Basel tournament since it became part of the ATP Tour calendar. It also follows his breakthrough triumph at the Shanghai Masters in October 2025, where he became the first Monegasque player to win an ATP Masters 1000 title.
At 27, Vacherot has now won both of the ATP finals he has contested. His Basel campaign included victories over Mariano Navone, Rafael Jódar, Holger Rune and Taylor Fritz before overcoming Lehečka in the championship match.
The success places him in distinguished company: he joins Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic among the players to have won titles in both Basel and Shanghai.
For Monaco, the triumph represents another landmark moment in the country’s sporting history, with Vacherot continuing to establish himself among the leading figures in international tennis.
