Monaco United booked their place in the next round of the Coupe de France Féminine with a 3-0 victory over local rivals ASMFF on Sunday, October 18, securing another derby win and becoming the Principality’s last remaining representative in the competition.
Played at the Stade Didier-Deschamps in Cap-d’Ail, the fourth regional round encounter attracted a capacity crowd for a meeting between two sides enjoying strong starts to the season. Monaco United had already beaten ASMFF in the first-ever women’s football derby between the clubs last month and repeated the achievement with another commanding performance.
Despite controlling much of the first half, Monaco United initially struggled to find a breakthrough against a physically competitive ASMFF side. Fiona Brandazzi was among those to threaten going forward, while goalkeeper Pauline Moitrel produced an important save late in the half to keep the scores level at 0-0.

The match changed after the interval, with substitute Mila Drion making an immediate impact. She finished a well-worked team move to put Monaco United ahead, rewarding the side’s sustained attacking pressure.
With the breakthrough secured, Monaco United continued to dictate possession and compete strongly in midfield. Sara Lakhssassi extended the advantage with 15 minutes remaining, beating her marker before firing past the opposing goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
Drion then completed her brace in the closing stages, putting the result beyond doubt and confirming a comprehensive victory for Marco Simone’s side.
The result continues Monaco United’s impressive start to the season and represents another milestone for the women’s team, who will now await the draw for the next round. With ASMFF eliminated, Monaco United are the only club from the Principality still competing in this year’s French Cup.
Assistant coach Alexandre Gallet praised the team’s focus and collective spirit, highlighting how the players maintained their composure and took their opportunities after half-time. Club president and coach Marco Simone, who had been recovering and followed the team’s preparations from a distance, also thanked the coaching staff and players for their commitment during a challenging week.
For Monaco United, the victory is another step forward in a campaign that has already delivered historic moments. The team will now look ahead to the next stage of the competition, with the draw expected in the coming days and the possibility of facing opponents from higher divisions.
