Olivier Wenden has been appointed Director of the Princely Cabinet by decision of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, with effect from Monday, March 2. He succeeds Christophe Steiner, who had held the position since September 2023.
Mr Wenden currently serves as Vice-President and Managing Director of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, where he has played a central role since joining the organisation in 2014. During his tenure, he has been instrumental in expanding the Foundation’s international reach and strengthening its strategic positioning on the global stage.
Prior to his work with the Foundation, Mr Wenden built a career in public service and international affairs, holding senior roles within Monaco’s National Council and the Department of External Relations and Cooperation. His appointment reflects a background combining institutional expertise, diplomatic experience, and long-standing service to the Principality.
In announcing the nomination, the Sovereign Prince expressed his sincere appreciation to Christophe Steiner for his commitment during a particularly demanding period for Monaco’s institutions. Mr Steiner was praised for his sense of duty, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to the Prince and the Princely Family, as well as for the rigour and discernment with which he led the Princely Cabinet.
The transition marks a new chapter for the Princely Cabinet, as Olivier Wenden prepares to take up his duties at the heart of the Principality’s institutional life.
