The Médiathèque de Monaco hosted the launch of the 2025 “Lire, Découvrir, Rencontrer” initiative on Thursday 26 June, presenting the shortlisted novels for the upcoming Bourse de la Découverte…

Organised in collaboration with regional libraries and the Fondation Prince Pierre’s Literary Council, the programme invites readers to engage with debut novels and meet their authors later this year.

The six first novels selected for this edition are Tout le bruit du Guéliz by Ruben Barrouk, Tombée du ciel by Alice Develey, Le vrai visage de la pluie by Jonathan Dumani, Feydeau s’en va by Thierry Thomas, Mon vrai nom est Elisabeth by Adèle Yon, and La patiente du jeudi by Nathalie Zajde. The initiative encourages the public to read these works ahead of author meetings planned for Monday 13 October 2025 at the Institut Audiovisuel de Monaco.

The winner of the Bourse de la Découverte will be announced during the Fondation Prince Pierre Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 14 October 2025 at the Salle Garnier. Participating libraries include the Médiathèque de Monaco, Bibliothèque pour tous de Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Médiathèque communautaire de Biot, Médiathèques du SIVOM de Villefranche-sur-Mer, and libraries in Cap d’Ail, La Turbie, St Jean Cap Ferrat, Grasse, La Trinité, and Menton.

Through Lire, Découvrir, Rencontrer, Monaco continues to champion literature and nurture cultural connections between authors and readers across the region.
